Pyrometric cones for fast firing and porcelain enameling
New series developed by Orton Foundation can be fired either in few minutes, or on much longer schedules, thus offering possibility of being used as control device in porcelain enamel furnaces as well as for other fast ceramic firing; when heated on standard schedule of 60 C per hr in air, large cones normally used for pottery firing control have consecutive deformation temperatures at intervals of 10 C from 500 to 1000 C; small cones can be placed directly in hot furnace.
