Four jacks and eight h-beams put up river spans
Each of two separated roadways that make up Mianus River Bridge called for two 295 ft long girders to span 205 ft between piers and cantilever 45 ft beyond; added to this was 37° skew between piers that would take span; welded plate girders were fabricated at plant of contractor in Yonkers and transferred by barge to site; girders were connected on barge; system of four slender jacking towers mounted on two car floats raised span in two ft increments.
