High-level fixed bridge across Petaluma Creek will be 2200 ft long and 75 ft above mean sea level; bridge has total of 29 spans: 24 spans of precast prestressed girders, 4 ft 6 in. deep and 80 ft long and one of 160 ft steel plate girders for crossing of ship channel; 25 ft long precast girders for tower bents to resist longitudinal seismic forces; rapid drop of bedrock required long piling; 7/16 in. wire strands were pretensioned to 532,000 lb working load.
