Design of aluminum tubular members
Formulas are presented for determining local buckling strength of round aluminum tubes in compression, bending and torsion; formulas, which cover both elastic and inelastic stress ranges, are compared with results of analytical studies and tests of tubes; design data on mechanical properties, column strength, bending strength and weld strength of aluminum tubes are also given.
