Steel gables and arches
Information is presented for design calculations of steel rigid frames and arches; sections shown are based on A36 steel; tables presented encompass single span pinned-base rigid frames fabricated of straight prismatic steel sections in range of spans from 50 to 150 ft, in steps of 10 ft; vertical loading employed consists of total loads of 500, 1000, and 1500 lb/lineal ft of span; selection of member sizes and tabulation of critical unbraced lengths for columns and rafter or girder member is included; design criteria and tabulated data for two-hinged and circular arches.
