Load tests on post-tensioned pavement slabs
Data from static load tests conducted on three concrete slabs post-tensioned with steel strands are reported; each slab was 30 ft long, 12 ft wide, and 5 in. thick; two slabs had only longitudinal prestress, one of 180 psi and other of 360 psi; third slab had 360 psi longitudinal prestress and 70 psi transverse prestress; data from interior loadings indicated that transverse prestress may be required to prevent bottom surface cracks from extending to top surface.
