Evaluation of welded-wire fabric in bituminous concrete resurfacing
Experimental project undertaken in Illinois to determine effectiveness of welded-wire fabric in prevention or retardation of reflection cracking in bituminous concrete resurfacing on old portland cement concrete pavement is described; fabric consisted of 10-gage longitudinal wires on 3-in. centers and 10-gage transverse wires on 6-in. centers; survey data on longitudinal reflection cracking over longitudinal widening joints were summarized and analyzed for sections with and without fabric reinforcement.
