Stress relaxation of bituminous concrete in tension
Simple test method, employing constant rate of extension was used to investigate rheological properties of asphaltic concrete for use as pavement material and to determine relaxation behavior of certain asphalt-aggregate mixtures; experimental results were then compared with compression test results conducted in same manner; nonlinear viscoelastic behavior was experienced in both types of tests and effect of temperature and strain on nonlinearity was determined.
