Design and construction of underground conduits
Study of problems associated with supporting strength of conduit that depends on inherent strength of conduit, distribution of vertical load and bottom reaction, and magnitude and distribution of lateral earth pressures; cases considered include loads on ditch and projecting conduits, conduits in wide ditches, loads on negative projecting conduits and imperfect ditch conduits, surface loads, pressure pipe lines, pipe line crossings under railroads and highways, maintenance of steel, ductile iron and reinforced concrete pipes, and culvert settlement and longitudinal spreading.
