Diagenetic ankerites in Aalenian deposits of Dagestan
Ankerites occur in paludal-deltaic-marine argillaceous sediments in which it forms 5 to 30 cm thick and 0.2 to 4 m long lenticular concretions; banding continues through these concretions; iron, magnesium, and calcium in concretions were concentrated from rock in which they are embedded.
