Spectral analysis of Koyna earthquake of December 11, 1967
Accelerogram recorded at right abutment of Koyna gravity dam in India during earthquake is strongest recorded from point of view of maximum base acceleration; forces acting on structures due to ground motion were determined; `response spectra' curves were drawn for all components of accelerogram; `Fourier spectra' were determined which give indication of amplitudes associated with various frequency components; comparing spectral intensities of earthquake with earlier records it was observed that Koyna's accelerogram is not most intense even though its peak ground acceleration was maximum.
