A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Transient-flow theory is used for determining spacing relationships of subsurface drains; research work from Australia and Canada and data from Bureau of Reclamation project were used for checking validity of mathematical developments of theory under many varying field conditions; actual field problem is given as example of how field investigational and other available data are used in developing drain-spacing requirements under various specified conditions; validity of discharge formulas is verified by Australian and Canadian research work.
