Edge effects in hyperbolic paraboloid shells
Influences of edge constraint on behavior of single panel ruled surface hypars with straight generator boundaries are studied; with apex and base corners clamped in position and against rotation, each of degenerate clamped, simple and free edge conditions are considered and shown to represent extreme behavior of various physical-numerical analogues of shelledge beam interaction; significance on overall shell behavior of number of second order shell edge beam interaction terms are assessed; consideration is given to estimation of significance of stress resultants in overall load carrying capacity of shell.
