Lower-bound analysis of edge-loaded rectangular slab with partial or full fixity at edges and subjected to soil pressure defined in general manner to cover variation from purely cohesive to purely cohesionless states; solution is compared with yield-line analysis for wide range of geometrical and soil pressure parameters; solution for problem of fully clamped rectangular slab subjected to uniformly distributed load is derived as particular case of solution.
