Stress distribution around holes in concrete
Tests on large concrete specimens with holes subjected to direct tension showed that presence of holes does not affect structural properties of concrete including its extensibility and ultimate failure stress; overstress in vicinity of hole is redistributed and stress concentration is unsubstantial.
