Calculation of eccentrically loaded reinforced concrete columns; it is stated that none of three design methods available provided true load-carrying mechanism for columns; additional moment method is discussed; this moment due to buckling of more slender columns, calculated by means of ultimate strength analysis, must be added to regular bending moment; deformation equation for reinforced concrete and its application to calculation of column deformation is dealt with.
