Some model experiments carried out in connection with Mulberry harbour
Experimental work at National Physical Laboratory with models of various concrete components of Mulberry Harbor laid at Arromanches during invasion of Normandy in June 1944; details of towing tests carried out with models representing units from which breakwater would be built up; experiments with model breakwater unit, called "Phoenix"; account of similar experiments made with various components of inner harbor equipment. (See also Instn Naval Architects -- Paper n 7 for meeting Apr 11 1946 28 p, 2 supp sheets; Shipbldg and Shipg Rec v 67 n 24 June 13 1946 p 655-6)
