Report on survey, by Safety Research Inst, of records for 1 yr supplied by fire departments of 191 cities in United States, with regard to types of equipment used to extinguish fires; value of hand extinguishers; of 41,657 fires recorded, 32% were extinguished with first aid equipment and 67.2% with heavy equipment; hand extinguishers used on almost one-third of fires.
