Rebuilding Moerdijk bridges, Holland
Highway bridge consisted of ten lattice girder spans, each 328 ft long; four of ten spans were destroyed, but piers remained intact; four wrecked spans were repaired by temporarily transferring two of intact curved top chord truss spans of railway bridge to highway structure; railway bridge was 4650 ft long; 6 to 14 spans were destroyed; it is proposed to shorten railway bridge from 14 to 10 spans, four demolished spans being replaced by earth dyke, 1500 ft long.
