Editorial review of report published by HM Stationery Office on Seailles-Dyckerhoff process of extracting alumina from coal ashes, coal mine waste and similar material; report written after visit to Portland cement plant of Dyckerhoff and Soehne at Amoeneburg near Bierbrich, Germany; process was found to be practicable from technical point of view but expensive since raw materials were low in alumina content.
