Elastic stress field in plate weakened by skew elliptical hole
Solution is developed from plane stress case for right hole produced by cylinder when angle with normal to bounding planes of plate equals zero; solution is presented so that its components taken singly and in combination correspond to ordinary and exact plane stress solution for right hole together with correction term for effect of skewness; two uniaxial and one biaxial loading conditions are considered and stresses for each case are tabulated.
