Resistance of piles to lateral loads
Solutions of basic differential equation for laterally loaded piles are presented for different types of soils; results of tests conducted on model aluminum piles; change in behavior of short and long piles is discussed; procedure for drawing defected shape of laterally loaded pile; it is shown that good reproduction of density conditions can be obtained in tests by compacting sand uniformly by means of proctor hammer.
