Prestressed concrete vessel of Bugey I nuclear power plant
Description of preliminary tests carried out on scale models of vessel's cap to ascertain which Young's modulus should be taken into account, as well as description of research on concrete properties and concreting tests of cap; as conventional thin shell theory gives inconsistent results, computer code was set up for thermoelastic stress analysis of models; these were tested under ultimate pressure up to 124 atm at ambient temperature, and at 50 atm with sustained temperature crossfall of 50 C; test results were in good agreement with computed ones.
