Lateral loading tests made on steel bearing piles
Tests of two monoliths, each 10×10×4 ft, 18 in. apart, each supported by four 10×10 in. 42 lb H-section steel piles (Carnegie-Illinois CBP 103), 30 ft long, driven in sand and gravel to rock under Emsworth Dam on Ohio River, to determine what lateral loads could be assumed in design of structure.
