Characteristics of combined bitumen in Devonian sediments of Volga-Urals region
Bitumen consists of saponifying components, alcohols, hydrocarbons, and some nonacetylizing oxygen and sulfur compounds; maximum content of saponifying compounds corresponds to early stage in sedimentary rhythms; minimum content of these compounds and maximum content of hydrocarbons, correspond to maximum subsidence of sea floor and to strongly reducing conditions; combined bitumen is transitional form in process of transformation of lipoids to hydrocarbons.
