Office building at Place Victoria (Montreal)
Partially open diagonal-bracing construction at 5th, 19th, and 32nd floor levels connect central core of tower to 4 reinforced concrete corner columns and assure resistance to major seismic shocks and wind pressure; bracings were concreted simultaneously with floor slabs and corner columns; cross section is 52 sq ft at foundation level and tapers off to 20 sq ft at tower crown; construction methods are described.
