A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Civil engineering of industrial installations for nuclear energy
Construction of nuclear power plant is discussed in terms of safety; methods and standard specifications used in concrete civil engineering must be revised and adapted to new requirements regarding resistance to seismic shocks and high temperatures, as well as to assure complete air, gas, and water tightness of containment vessels, pressure tanks, joints and air locks; new types of heavy, radiation-shielding concretes are discussed; construction work on containment vessels is illustrated.
