Class of four recent 20-knot motor ships, Glenlyon, Glenogle, Flintshire, and Glenfalloch, trading between United Kingdom and Far East is described; characteristics are compared with predecessors of 22 yr earlier and some aspects of design are considered; in particular, importance of easier cargo-handling is stressed; results of hull form model studies and ship trials are given; plan.
