Fires in "fireproof" buildings
In 32 fires and explosion incidents cited, 760 lives were lost, including 31 in manufacturing plants, 22 in storage occupancies, 32 in office buildings, 180 in hotels, three in hangar and 492 in night club; in eight cases fire originated outside and spread into fire resistive building; severe explosions were responsible for extensive damage in nine.
