Billner method of prestressing concrete
Method uses 3/8-in. diam wire and all wires in building element are prestressed simultaneously; wires are coated with asphalt, permitting them to slide after concrete has hardened; process obtains compressive strengths of 8000 psi in standard 6 × 12 in. cylinder tests.
