Bridge at Esbly, France, has 242-ft 9-in. span, carriageway 19 ft. 8 in. wide, and two footpaths each 3 ft 3 in. wide; hinges, provided for each beam, are of Freyssinet type; longitudinal and transverse cables, composed of 12 or 18 steel wires 0.2 in. in diam, have tensile strength of 92 tons per sq. in.; manufacture of prestressed members.
