Cables join precast beams to form first continuous prestressed bridge
Bridge at Neufchatel en Bray, France, which carries 30-ft wide highway, double-track railway and secondary road consists of two 59 ft side spans and 36-ft center span; each span consists of 22 beams; prestressing accomplished by tensioning 12-wire Freyssinet type cables; concrete made with rapid hardening cement and had 90 day strength of 6400 psi.
