Corrugated concrete arch
Illustrated description of true arch similar to arch of Ctesiphon, near Bagdad; first modern arch of this type, built in 1941 was 20 ft span hut with no reinforcement, shell being 1 1/4 in. thick; ribs of tubular scaffolding were set up at 3 ft centers; over ribs was stretched sheet of light hessian; natural sag of hessian under weight of rendering gave shell its corrugated form; examples of aircraft hangars and grain silo shown.
