Soil-cement fill speeds aqueduct repair
Break of 8 1/2 × 8 1/2-ft concrete conduit of Los Angeles water supply line necessitated rebuilding washed out hillside which supported line and replacing damaged line within 10 days; hillside fill was performed with soil cement; new conduit is of reinforced concrete; special collar of reinforced concrete joins old aqueduct with repaired section; asphaltic membrane will prevent leakage at joint in event of settlement of new section.
