Repairing sixteen-inch main in thirty five feet of water
While new channel was being dredged in East River, length of 16-in. flexible jointed pipe was pulled out of water main where water was about 30 ft deep and pipe laid about six ft below river bottom; emergency repairs were essential, which were completed in about three weeks; author describes and illustrates special features in this unusual repair job.
