General principles of highway transition curve design
Modified theory, called "lateral force theory," is outlined; experimental evidence is produced to show that length of transition curve is of no great importance; proposal is made that it should be made fixed proportion of total length of curve; simplified equations for solution of compound curve based on radius of arc as parameter.
