In small sizes of sewer pipe, 4 in. to 10 in. incl., material should pass through 3/8 in. screen, then be broken on No. 8 screen; complete compaction is necessary both to eliminate percolation and to insure dense concrete; best results are obtained by using maximum amount of rock, wet mix and comparatively large tamp shoe.
