Le pont de Tordera
Tordera highway bridge in Barcelona Province, Spain, is combined steel and concrete structure with three spans of 148, 178 and 148 ft, respectively; each span carried by two fish bellied trusses with concrete upper chord while lower chord and diagonals are of electrically welded steel; lower chords are formed to shape of elliptic arc; type of structure was found satisfactory in better adapting each material to structural requirements. (See also English description in Indian Concrete J v 21 n 3 Mar 1947 p 62; Eng News-Rec v 138 n 24 June 12 1947 p 946-7)
