A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Use of convolution integrals for calculating temperature of cooling strata surrounding newly created, dry, deep mine roadway has been successfully applied to British mine after reversal of ventilation which made it into intake sufficiently close to downcast shaft to be considerably affected by seasonal changes in air temperature; although nothing was known initially of thermal properties of strata surrounding roadway, methods of making rough initial estimates of their values were obtained; predictions of rise in temperature have been made for 1150 yd of intake airway at mine.
