Suggestions for improving irrigation efficiency
Tests showed that effective soil moisture in field irrigated is situated between field capacity and centrifugal moisture equivalent, and irrigation should be begun when average soil moisture in effective root zone falls to centrifugal moisture equivalent; only 1/3 of irrigation water is needed as compared to submergence irrigation when practicing shallow submergence irrigation for 30 days before and after earing and flowering period.
