Interpretation of magnetic anomalies due to dykes
Based on simple scaling laws, method is developed for routine interpretation of magnetic anomalies arising from uniformly magnetized dikes; method can be applied to any observed component of field, i.e., vertical, horizontal or total field anomaly and it is applicable for any resultant direction of magnetization of dike itself and for any strike direction; necessary data for interpretation are given in form of curves covering range from 0 up to 15 for ratio of thickness of dike to depth to its top.
