Clamping of piles in arbitrarily stratified building ground
Equations are derived for calculation of piles and tubes embedded in stratified soil and subjected to combined axial and transversal forces; theory makes use of coefficient of subgrade reaction determined experimentally for particular soil strata, and gives higher foundation depths than Brinch-Hansen theory (Engineering Index 1962 p 482).
