Kingsgate footbridge was constructed to link groups of college buildings of Durham University on opposite sides of River Wear, England; bridge is 350 ft long and consists of 2 identical sections of main span, each 136 ft long, and long cantilevered abutment; main spans are of white concrete, sand blasted to expose granite aggregate; abutments are of plain gray concrete with strong board-marked surface texture.
