Methods available for design of measures for preventing inundations and controlling floods are described; unit hydrograph method for calculation of maximum discharge, calculation of passage of flood wave through reservoir with controlled tailwater elevation, and calculation of ruling storm surge level and of necessary dike height are shown graphically.
