Fire marshal's point of view on fire tests
Evaluation of fire test reports by fire prevention engineer seeks answers to where test was conducted, who supervised test and reported, whether report accurately records test assembly so that it may be duplicated in field construction, and shows that test was conducted in accordance with all provisions of ASTM Methods E119; it is suggested that fire test reports are of little value for building code purposes or to fire protection engineer unless they can be translated into similar assemblies in construction of buildings; test methods and facilities are discussed.
