Embankment settlement behaviour on deep peat
Settlement history of floated-fill embankment constructed on 25-ft-deep peat bog; fill was built to act as storage dike with specific crest elevation, 12 ft above initial surface of peat; cross section of embankment was designed on basis of in-situ vane shear tests to avoid shear failure of foundation; description of fill, and design and construction of embankment are given. Before 7th Muskeg Research Conference Apr 18-19 1961.
