Insulation resistance in polyethylene and teflon under gamma-ray and electron-beam irradiation
Observations are reported on pattern of insulation resistance decrease of organic insulating materials in relatively high close rate γ-ray fields, and in strong electron beam radiation field; electric conduction mechanism under ionization and process of insulation resistance recovery after cessation of irradiation was studied; purpose of this report is to establish guide for selecting organic insulation materials to be used under irradiation; polyethylene and Teflon were chosen for experiments as typical counterparts.
