Some considerations of airfield pavement design
Mathematical approach gives so involved and complicated formula that only sound approach seems to rely on practical performance of actual pavements; types of construction needed for heavy aircraft loads and tire pressures; design curves developed to show variation in depth of pavement; probable future trends; both concrete and bituminous surfaces considered. (See also Instn Civ Engrs -- Proc v 4 pt 2 n 1 Feb 1955 p 55-94 (discussion) 94-118)
