Criteria for highway tunnel lighting design
Survey of lighting system in most of major tunnels throughout United States is presented, and authors discuss important lighting features noted during survey; suggestions are offered for determining which tunnels and underpasses should be lighted; factors which must be considered by designer when selecting lighting criteria for specific project are outlined; and guidelines for both day and night levels of illumination in these facilities are summarized.
