Slurry wall construction for BART subway stations
Site and soil conditions and structural considerations leading development of criteria and adoption of new design and construction method for Civic Center Subway Station in downtown San Francisco, Calif; incorporation of temporary ground support system as permanent structural wall offers important advantages from point of view of scheduling; "Soldier-Pile-Tremie-Concrete" (SPTC) method was selected for wall construction without specified underpinning; SP TC wall provided good control of ground water.
